Our Assistant Principal, Renee McCoy
Welcome Parents, Guests, and Community members,
I am Renee McCoy, Assistant Principal, at Warsaw Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. I am honored to serve in this capacity as one of the administrators at a school that I attended as a child in the Warsaw community. I grew up right here in Warsaw, North Carolina. I attended Warsaw Elementary, Warsaw Junior High, and graduated from James Kenan High School. I have Eagle and Tiger Pride. Many changes and challenges have transpired in our community over the years. As we regain momentum, remember that eagles use the storms to reach unimaginable heights. Tigers have the strength and endurance to stay the course and reach their goals.
I have been an educator with Duplin County Schools for 23 years. I served as school counselor with Duplin County Schools for 22.5 years at Chinquapin Elementary, Wallace Elementary, and James Kenan High School. I enjoyed my journey at each of these schools and interacted with a lot of students, staff, and families along the way. Our students deserve our best. Students need to communicate and interact with positive role models daily for encouragement and hope for their social-emotional health. More importantly, they need to be challenged with high expectations in the areas of academics, behavior, and attendance. All four of these areas together produce a standard of excellence in their performance as they reach attainable goals towards making their imprint in life as productive citizens making a difference while gaining advanced skills in post-secondary education and the workforce.
My post-secondary education experiences include attainable goals that I made after graduating from James Kenan High School. I attended and graduated from the following universities: UNC at Chapel Hill-Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, North Carolina Central University-Master of Arts in School Counseling, UNC at Greensboro-Post-Master’s Certificate in Advanced School Counseling, Shaw University- Master of Divinity, North Carolina State University- Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, Campbell University- Master of School Administration. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of the children I interact with so they are able to make sound decisions as they matriculate through high school and beyond.
I look forward to working with all parents and family members to help meet the needs of our students. Two-way, honest communication is important to maintain transparency for student success. We have an awesome administrative team committed to putting the needs of our students first. The Warsaw Elementary School family is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for student growth and development.
