Learning, Leading, Succeeding

The North Carolina Museum of Art-Artist Innovation Mentorship (AIM) program provides six-week sessions, led by Mr. Telvin Wallace and Mr. Glenwood Bell. This innovative program, which meets weekly after school, empowers middle school students at WARE by nurturing creativity, fostering mentorship, and building valuable relationships within the community. Through AIM, students gain artistic skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging, breaking down barriers to artistic expression and opening doors to future opportunities. As a former WARE student, Mr. Telvin Wallace's early triumph in an elementary drawing contest sparked his artistic journey. Now, an acclaimed artist splitting time between Durham and New York City, he mentors rural students in the AIM after-school program.

Duplin County Schools has given me very nice teachers with different teaching styles who give good instruction and provide a good learning environment. I enjoy math, recess, PE, and music classes. Warsaw Elementary is a nice school with caring teachers and staff members. Ms. Murray is very welcoming to everyone.

"Duplin County Schools and Warsaw Elementary embrace a diverse and nurturing learning culture for students. They both instill a clear vision and work to equip every student with the opportunities to be globally competitive. DCS welcomes community partnerships such Talent Search through James Sprunt Community College and other external resources that help to provide opportunities for students to be successful. Collaborative partnerships such as this help students to reach their fullest potential inside and outside of the classroom."
